We take extra time to explain to you what we’re doing and why

Keeping your pet happy and healthy is your primary concern; it’s ours too. At Luc Van Dijck Veterinary Centre we strongly recommend that you bring your furry friend to see us at least once a year so that we can monitor their wellbeing.

The majority of conditions pets are susceptible to have no obvious symptoms early on. This can be bad news for your pet as they may not let you know they’re having problems until it’s too late.

By visiting us annually we’re able to thoroughly examine your animal and ensure that they’re in the very best health. It also means that should we spot anything abnormal, quick and effective treatment is more likely.

Upon arrival at our practice you can look forward to a warm and friendly welcome. At Luc Van Dijck Veterinary Centre you are just as important to us as your pet, and you will both be made to feel comfortable whilst the vet is made aware of your arrival.

During the examination the vet will ask you questions about your pet’s general health before assessing all the basics; their eyes, ears, teeth, skin, coat and claws. They will then listen to your furry friend’s heart and lungs, before feeling their abdomen for any unusual lumps and bumps.

Once the vet is satisfied that they have conducted an in-depth examination they will inform you of any findings. We appreciate that you may not be familiar with medical terms, so we always offer you extra time so that we can explain results to you in a language you understand.

If your pet requires medication after they have seen the vet, one of our nurses will dispense it for you. As well as explaining to you how to administer the medication you have been given, our nurses also have a wealth of experience working with all sorts of animals so if you have a question or concern, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of our team.

If you would like more information about our pet examinations, or to book an appointment to see one of our experts, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. You can contact us by calling our practice on 01942 242464, or send us an email to lvdvet@msn.co.uk.
